The founders of the company had started the first rocketry team in their second year of college at Burla, where they had sent 6 sounding rockets in space to map Hirakund Dam in Orissa. They did not only design the rockets and “Cansats”, sent it in space but also recovered it on ground. They were covered in “Mann Ki Baat” by hon’ble Prime Minister. The first investments from the fund were made in the company. The company since then has won 4 IDEX challenges.
Jamwant Ventures not only connected them with the relevant stake holders but also helped organize face to face meetings with domain experts. The company has since then raised Rs 42 Cr in the next funding round. The funds shall be deployed for creating PESO approved plant in the defence corridor. The investors in this round include Rockstud capital, Venture Catalyst, Burla Angels, Globaz Capital and Rain matter.
The company is into manufacturing of electrical and electronic connectors. TIEA is the only Indian company that is making customized connectors in India. This helps the Indian innovators to customized connectors if needed. The company is OEM to 5 EV manufacturers in India. The second investment was made in the company by Jamwant Ventures.
Jamwant Ventures co-lead the next round of Rs 22 Cr of investments with Valour Capital in the company with other investors in the round being Ivy Cap and 8X VC. The company has won the IDEX challenge for mil grade connectors.
Axial Aero is founded by 2 ex-IAF pilots and an engineer, with a combined 12,000 Hrs of flying and 12 patents. The 4-year company is adjudged the best aerospace startup in 2023 by StartupIndia of DPIIT.
80% of the $10 b USD global flight simulator market is with 3 non-aircraft manufacturing companies (L3 Harris, CAE and FSI). India imports all its advanced flight simulators. India needs $1b USD worth of simulators and the world needs $18 b USD due to eVTOLs, in 10 years.
Both IAF and IN are working with Axial for SD&UPRT simulators, Apache and other simulators. The company has won the IDEX challenge for making “Spatial Disorientation simulator”. Prototype is available for demonstration in Hyderabad. The disruptive technology has wider applications. Use cases: Pilot training (civil & military), aircraft (mainly helicopters) and weapons development & training, GIS, Gaming, etc.
Aeronero is in the space of air water generation which is supported by 13 patents and rapid growth in commercialisation. Its solutions range from compact home systems to large-scale industrial solutions, providing clean, alkaline water from the atmosphere and promoting water independence for all.
Company’s founder and CEO is Dr Durga Das and the company has Ricky Kej, 3 times grammy winner who serves as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification) as their brand ambassador. Jamwant Ventures is amongst the first investor in the company.
The company is incubated at SINE IIT Bombay with a facility in Pune. The company was founded by Manan Joshi, Kalyani Shinde, Vinith Shenoy in 2023 after leading a special project group of rocket engine development at Bharat Forge. The company not only develops the rocket engine called ANYA but also develops the software and test infrastructure to design and hot fire the engine which also includes India's First Mobile Rocket engine Test Bed. The company works with ISRO, IN-SPACe, Bharat Forge, Godrej Aerospace, INOXCVA.
Thrustworks Dyentics is a company that designs and develops propulsion systems such as liquid rocket engines system and subsystems for commercialisation. The company envisions to develop advance propulsion system such as Micro-combustors, High Thrust High Impulse Engine (HTHI) pushing the boundary of modular and scalable engines. Jamwant Ventures has lead the investment round of INR 10 Cr with other investors like Piper Serica, SINE-IIT Bombay and Shri Manish Gandhi (angel investor).
Suhora Technologies is a technology company based in Noida, India, that focuses on Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial analytics. It uses satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to provide data and actionable insights for sectors like defense, disaster management, infrastructure, and agriculture.
The company has access to more than 250 different types of satellite imagery that includes Optical, Thermal, Synthetic Aperture, RF and AIS. This type of imagery has use cases in Defence, Disaster Relief, Insurance and Agriculture sectors. The company offers the SPADE platform, a subscription-based service for satellite tasking, data access, and analysis.
